Centroid CNC Controls provide complete retrofit solutions for toolroom or production mills and lathes.
EMI is a certified dealer of Centroid retrofit packages in the mid-Atlantic region. We provide on-site installation and service of Centroid retrofit kits, as well as machine operator training. Although we specialize in Bridgeport machines, we will retrofit any brand of mill or lathe, such as Hardinge, Mazak, Haas, Fadal, Mori Seiki, Ikegai, Hurco, etc.
The retrofit package includes a Centroid control console, electronics, cables, and motors, plus 8 hours of operator training. All Centroid components are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which provides 12 months of coverage for parts and 3 months for labor. Advanced CAD/CAM features (such as automated engraving) and extended warranties are available as options.
A retrofitted machine can do everything a new machine can and more, at less than 50% of the cost. Client machine shops benefit from reduced down-time during the retrofit process. A typical Bridgeport Boss retrofit takes less than 3 days onsite, including training. Upgrading the machine is relatively painless, and can be done without disrupting operations in the rest of the shop. Machine riggers are not necessary. In addition, the machine's original tooling and fixtures are retained.
By using a Centroid control, machine owners can realize substantial cost savings in the manufacturing process by reducing the amount of time and labor needed to make a part.
